And now for Alternate Hip-Hop Histories. In a new interview with AskMen, G.O.O.D. Music rapper Pusha T says Kanye West initially offered him the beat to “Niggas in Paris,” but he turned it down. “[Kanye] sent me some stuff that I don’t always feel. It happens,” Pusha said. “Then he’ll go out of his way to prove you wrong. And he does sometimes… ‘Niggas in Paris.'”

Pusha’s manager added, “Pusha said, ‘It sounds like a video game. Get that shit out of here!'” Of course, the song went on to become a huge hit for Ye and Jay-Z on Watch the Throne. Like, so huge that the duo performed it 11 times in a row to close out their concert, and everyone there was probably hoping for a 12th take.

In addition to talking about what could have been, Pusha revealed a few details about his forthcoming solo debut, My Name Is My Name (out July 16). He recorded it in Paris with Kanye, and it’ll feature guest spots from Ye, 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar, as well as production from Pharrell, The-Dream and Swizz Beatz.
