Miley Cyrus Shows Some Skin In ‘V,’ Talks New Music, Remains Impossibly Cool: See The Racy Shoot

Miley Cyrus is on the cover of V Magazine this month (actually, there’s three covers, which seems to be de rigueur these days), in a gloriously edgy and provocative shoot by Mario Testino that shows exactly what happens if you try to tame Miley. (Hint: You can’t.) It’s mostly just leather, studs and skins, but nobody’s going to complain about that.

In the accompanying interview — which includes her primary collaborator Pharrell Williams, heaping glowing praise upon her creativity and forward-thinking ambition — Cyrus comes across as wise beyond her years when it comes to the sycophants and hangers-on that abound in the entertainment business: “In this industry,” she says, “no one wants to turn a mirror to you and encourage you to see the good things. No one wants you to see yourself fully because then you don’t need them. If there’s nothing missing, then you don’t need them.” Deep. Real. Miley.

She also talks about her badass hair and teases a new song called “#GetItRight,” which may turn out to be the lead single off her upcoming album; it’s described as “a Top 40 diamond with a whistling hook and clever sweetness that partially obscures the frank sexual nature of its lyrics.” I’m ready.

Check the photos up top.
