What do Beyonce, One Direction, Kanye West, Ke$ha, Jay-Z, Bruno Mars, Usher, Tim McGraw, Pearl Jam, No Doubt and Gotye have in common? They’re all richer than you! Also, they’re all part of the new Global Citizen Tickets Initiative, a new project designed to incite social activism by offering people free concert tickets.

Billboard reports that the campaign, created by the Global Poverty Project, allows ordinary people (just like you and me!) to take a “variety of social actions… to earn points they can use to win free tickets to concerts,” which is cool if you love music and feel like doing something. All of the associated issues relate to extreme poverty and include “polio, malaria, women’s empowerment, education and more.”

“We are thrilled to be part of the Global Citizen campaign — a brilliant way to reward fantastic volunteers fighting against global poverty,” One Direction said in a statement. “We can’t wait to see some ‘global citizens’ at our shows!” (That’s a Liam quote if I’ve ever heard one. Ugh. Classic Liam.)

You can register at Globalcitizen.org/tickets to get involved, if it’s up your alley (and if you are a fan of pretty much any recording artist, it probably is, so good work, Global Poverty Project).
