Class is in session, and now it’s time to sit up straight and get an education! In the case of Pop School, it’s artists who are teaching you a lesson on their classic hits. Start taking notes!

We recently sat down with the one and only Eve to chat about her long awaited fourth studio album Lip Lock (out May 14). In addition to getting the “She Bad Bad” rapper to join in a rousing round of Pop Associated, we couldn’t resist inviting Eve to school us on the video for her Grammy-winning single “Let Me Blow Ya Mind.” To those of you who were still playing in the school yard back in the early aughts (or simply suffer from a poor long-term memory), “Let Me Blow Ya Mind” was the second single from the femcee’s sophomore album Scorpion. And, yes, the 2001 song did in fact live up to its title. Thanks to a killer Eve-penned hook and vocals from Gwen Stefani, the song rose to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and earned a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

The video was also nothing to sneeze at, becoming a staple on MTV during TRL‘s heyday. With pre-recession video budgets, the rapper got whatever she wanted, and the result was a slick vid featuring the ladies crashing a hoity-toity party, riding on ATVs and looking like the epitome of early 2000s glamour. Ruff Ryders’ first lady would go on to take home a Moonman for Best Female Video for the clip.

So, drop your glasses, shake your asses and watch above as Eve gives us a history lesson on “Let Me Blow Ya Mind.”
