Beyonce Announces “Rise Up” Song For ‘Epic’ Movie Soundtrack

There’s a great press release about a new Beyonce song that begins this way: “Beyonce, one of the most widely recognized and highly respected women in pop culture, has created an original song,” which really just says everything you need to know about Beyonce, doesn’t it? One of the most widely recognized and highly respected women in pop culture.

She’s not just a singer, or a recording artist. She’s an empire. A creator. She created that original song. She didn’t write it, or sing it. She willed it into being using the sheer power of her genius, because she is more powerful than her mind can even digest. You know who said that? Beyonce. She created that quote. Just like she created this song. Bow. Down.

But the press release isn’t just announcing Beyonce’s position as one of the most important people in the history of ever! Oh, no. There’s a song here, and it’s not even for a commercial, for once! Just for a movie, the upcoming 3D adventure Epic, in which she voiced a character (who’s a queen, naturally).

The song is called “Rise Up” (upon hearing this news, Christina Aguilera dug her nails very deep into her leg and stifled a scream), and it was penned by Beyonce alongside Sia (which means there’s a very good chance that it will be very good) and it was produced by Hit-Boy and Chase N Cashe. All good news, ultimately.

So there’s more Beyonce music coming your way, even if it’s not on an album or an official single and will we even be able to buy it on iTunes? Probably not. But that’s the Beyonce way.
