The Weeknd Teases New Music In Short, Shadowy Video: Hear “John Carpenter” Snippet

Abel Tesfaye‘s gloomy R&B project The Weeknd is back, though it’s just for a brief flash. After teasing 2013 untitled album back in January, and then a couple months later unveiling the record’s title, Kiss Land, Tesfaye has been quiet save for a few (great) guest spots.

But the drought is over and we’ve got what appears to be the first taste of The Weeknd’s new material, via a grainy, 20-second video called “John Carpenter.” The song finds Tesfaye repeating the phrase, “This ain’t nothin’ to relate to,” and if there’s any connection to the iconic horror director, it’s not apparent in this short teaser.
