Daft Punk Attend Grand Prix To Support The Lotus F1 Team, Who Do Not Get Lucky In The Race
Daft Punk members Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo made a rare public appearance on Sunday (May 26) to support British Formula One team Lotus F1 at the Grand Prix in Monaco. The UK, in case you haven’t been paying attention to such things, has been good to the duo, whose single “Get Lucky” was #1 on the Brit singles chart for a solid four weeks. (Album Random Access Memories also soared to #1 in the UK over the weekend, after its first full week of release.) Daft Punk’s label Columbia are media partners with the Lotus team, as evidenced by Thomas and Guy-Manuel’s fancy racing suits you see above.
Alas, two people who did not get lucky: Lotus F1’s Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean, the former of whom, despite the flashy support of the Robots, placed 10th in the race, while the latter retired on the 63rd lap.
