I hadn’t heard of Anne-Marie until Popjustice posted about her, but there’s much to like here, and a great deal that’s familiar in the best kind of way. There’s something a little bit Annie about that chorus, fizzing and layered with harmonies, but the speak-singing on the verses aligns it more with Charli XCX; but then there’s shades of A*M*E on the video game blips and bloops that spangle the track. No matter who she sounds like: It’s really good (especially considering it’s just a demo).
