Megan & Liz Perform “Release You”: The Idolator Sessions
Megan & Liz‘s “Release You” is one of those rare songs that just gets more and more amazing with each successive play: Big and sparkly and addictive, it’s a surefire summer anthem.
So when Megan & Liz stopped by Idolator headquarters to talk about their upcoming album Look What You Started, as well as their journey from YouTube cover queens to bona fide pop stars, they turned out an acoustic rendition of “Release You” that’s just as tremendous as the studio version: With Megan on guitar and Liz taking the lead on vocals with a spunky performance, stripping away all of Max Martin and Shellback‘s production wizardry shows that the song is just plain great in its DNA.
