Toni Braxton Plans Return To Music, New Sessions With Babyface

Toni Braxton has been gone for a minute — although if you watch Braxton Family Values (and who doesn’t?) you’ve no doubt kept up with her antics — and when the R&B songbird announced her retirement last year, a collective groan of impotent frustration could be heard ’round the world. (Or around my office, at the very least.)

But it was just a clever ploy to get us to miss her! Or something. On last night’s Braxton Family Values, Toni admitted that she was finally ready to give music another try: “I think I’ve made the right decision to get back involved with songwriting and working with Kenny,” she said. “I can’t be afraid anymore. I have to live life. It’s okay to fail as long as you try, so I’m gonna try.”

She later tweeted that the album, produced by Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, would be released in September via Motown Records.

I am 100% man enough for this.
