On Saturday, Simon Cowell posed a question to his Twitter followers: “I don’t think eggs should be allowed on talent shows. Discuss?” Earlier, during the Britain’s Got Talent finale, a woman ran onto the stage and threw eggs at Cowell before she was escorted off stage.

The woman, violist Natalie Holt, appeared on Britain’s Got Talent with the Raven Quartet in 2012. She had interrupted Welsh opera singers Richard and Adam Johnson‘s performance of “The Impossible Dream,” so when she released a statement on her latest Talent appearance, she addressed the Johnsons directly.

“I want to apologize to Richard and Adam for overshadowing their performance,” she said, according to the Daily Mail. “I’ve never done anything like this before and in hindsight I have realized it was a silly thing to do.” Watch Cowell get egged after the jump.

Richard and Adam Johnson finished third on Saturday’s finale, but their performance inspired several write-in votes on the official Britain’s Got Talent Facebook page: “I voted for the egg girl,” one fan said. “The yolk was on her,” another responded. Or, as Cowell later said: “Britain’s Got Talent has got The Eggs Factor.”
