Ricky Martin’s “Come With Me”: Hear The Dance Stormer

A new day has come for Ricky Martin with the Australian radio premiere of his new single “Come With Me”: The Puerto Rican superstar hasn’t had a major stateside hit in a minute, but he’s enjoyed a recent renaissance down under, where he’s been a judge on the Australian edition of The Voice, and now he’s going for the mainstream radio jugular with this latest track, a big dancefloor banger that’s definitely, well, trend-riding.

Produced by DNA — who, as previously noted, have been busy churning out major Australian pop hits for domestic talent like Guy Sebastian, Stan Walker and Jessica Mauboy — the track has the same texture as Jennifer Lopez‘s probably-superior “Live It Up,” although there’s a nice wobbly drum-and-bass effect on the chorus of Martin’s song that leads into a big Ibiza rave-a-thon chorus. Maybe that’s exactly what mainstream radio will eat up, but it feels like a pastiche of a million other better songs; the end result is just a little pedestrian.

Listen below.
