The Weeknd Debuts New ‘Kiss Land’ Song In Toronto: Watch

The Weeknd performed in his hometown of Toronto last night (June 13) and debuted a new song from his forthcoming album Kiss Land. This track (which Rap-Up says may be titled “You Belong To The World”) has probably his most aggressive beat yet, with jolts of industrial noise and blasts of static. It’s tough to tell, but it sounds like there are some operatic strings involved, too. So it would appear Yeezus isn’t the only new album that harnesses the more abrasive side of electro.

What’s more, Abel Tesfaye matches the beat’s energy, jumping and flailing amidst the flashing lights, a far cry from the shadowy, spotlight-averse singer of 2011. Check it out up top, and watch him perform the album’s sprawling title track below.
