Avril Lavigne Sounds Good, Looks Incredibly Bored On ‘Kelly And Michael’
Avril Lavigne doesn’t strike me as a particularly enthusiastic person. She probably celebrated all those number ones by rolling her eyes and applying more mascara. Not caring very much is an integral part of the pop/rock pioneer’s enduring appeal and she stayed true to form by looking bored out of her brain while performing “Here’s To Never Growing Up” on Kelly And Michael this morning.
At least she sounded great. Avril did a brilliant job of stripping the summer smash back-to-basics for a timeslot-appropriate sound. With the Martin Johnson-produced jam shooting up iTunes (in part due to a price reduction but mostly because it’s a very, very good song), the future Mrs. Chad Kroeger is covering all promo-bases.
Speaking of her fiance, Avril actually cracked a smile when Kelly asked about the proposal – Chad popped the question in the recording studio – and her gigantic engagement ring. Maybe she’s just not a morning person.
