Kanye West debuted a promotional clip for Yeezus, starring Kim Kardashian‘s best friend Jonathan Cheban and Kourtney Kardashian‘s boyfriend Scott Disick. The clip was projected Friday outside a Los Angeles studio during a Yeezus listening party, and as previously reported, was inspired by the 2000 film adaptation of American Psycho.

In particular, the Yeezus clip is inspired by an ax murder set to “It’s Hip to Be Square” by Huey Lewis and the News. As rumored, the clip substitutes mentions of Huey Lewis and “Square” with that of West and Yeezus. Disick reprises Christian Bale‘s starring role of Patrick Bateman, the Manhattan businessman and serial killer, while Cheban plays a colleague who often gets mistaken for Bateman (played by Jared Leto in the film).

“I think their undisputed masterpiece is ‘Hip to Be Square,’ a song so catchy that most people probably don’t listen to the lyrics,” Bateman says in American Psycho. “But they should — because it’s not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends. It’s also a personal statement about the band itself.” Watch the clip after the jump.

The dialogue itself is faint because Yeezus was blasting in the background, according to Rap-Up. Justin Bieber, Tyler, the Creator and Disick himself was present, although West was absent.
