Power 105.1 has debuted a radio-friendly remix of Kelly Rowland‘s “Dirty Laundry,” featuring R. Kelly. While Rowland sings of an abusive relationship in the original, Talk a Good Game track, Kelly steps in to sing as the beau himself: “Let’s just get it all out, you got something to say? / Say it to my face, so silence your mouth.”

While this particular relationship inspired Destiny’s Child‘s “Girl,” a song that imagines a staged intervention, Rowland had never been this forthcoming until “Dirty Laundry” (“I was battered / He hit the window like it was me, until it shattered”). Despite his aggressive introduction though, R. Kelly’s vocals actually lighten up the mood, if only because he shifts his focus to fellow artists-turned-imitators (“See, the truth of the matter is, everybody can’t do this / and that’s why I got all these shit-talking artists, singers on my hit list”).
