Chvrches Drop Dazzling “Gun” Video, Announce US Album Release Date

One the 2013’s best pop songs now has a video. Chvrches has been on our radar for a while now but they really impressed with “Gun”, crafting that rarest of synth-pop oddities – a catchy tune that evolves and becomes richer with each listen. It’s fitting then that the visual is also a bit of a grower. At first, a nod to Amii Stewart‘s psychedelic “Knock On Wood” clip seemed an unlikely approach but it works. Quite beautifully.

In other exciting news, the Scottish band will release their debut album The Bones Of What You Believe on September 24. We don’t have a tracklist yet but it is expected to include “Gun” (available in the UK on pink vinyl – jealous!), the title track from their March EP Recover and 2012 single “The Mother We Share”, which is being re-released as their next official US single on June 18.

Is the new video a hit or miss? Will you be buying the album come September? Tell us in the comments.
