Andy Bull Signs US Deal: Another Oz Artist To Watch

Andy Bull is the latest Australian (indie-) pop act to sign with an American record label. His freshly-inked deal with Republic Records allows him to follow in the footsteps of antipodean success stories like Sia, Iggy Azalea, Empire Of The Sun, Gotye and Kimbra. (As well as many others).

The songsmith made big waves in his homeland earlier this year with a synth-laden earworm called “Keep On Running”. It represented a stunning transformation from the piano-driven blue-eyed soul and stripped-back acoustic numbers of  his acclaimed 2009 debut We’re Too Young.

Republic Records execs obviously like Bull’s new direction, adding him to an already bumper roster of acts including heavyweights like Florence + The Machine and Of Monsters & Men.

The label’s VP of A&R welcomed the Aussie, saying: “We’re really excited to be Andy’s team in the US… It’s no surprise [his] music is cutting through. It’s really fresh and unique. We look forward to introducing American audiences to Andy Bull.”

Listen to the very, very good “Keep On Running” below and tell us if you’ll be checking for Andy in the comments.
