Golden-voiced boy-sprites One Direction took a top honor last night at the UK’s Silver Clef Awards, an awards luncheon celebrating musical accomplishments that I didn’t know existed until last night but apparently is kind of a a big deal, so that’s that. The fearsome fivesome were named Best Live Act at the ceremony, where they beat out (oh man) ColdplayBruce Springsteen and The Rolling Stones.

Said all of One Direction’s fans about the latter two: “Who?”

And on the subject of Coldplay! The alt-rockers did manage to snag the award for Best British Act, while Jessie Ware was named Best Newcomer.

Reportedly, One Direction received 25% of the vote, so good work, Directioners. Bruce Springsteen is probably crying himself to sleep right now.
