Big Boi Makes Crutches Look Cool In “The Thickets” Video: Watch
Big Boi recently had knee surgery after a jump went wrong during one of his concerts last month, but the injury isn’t getting him down. In his new video for “The Thickets,” the latest single off his second solo album Vicious Lies And Dangerous Rumors, the rapper shows off his crutches while cruising through Savannah, Georgia’s Tybee Island.
The bucolic visuals (ie. dolphins, sunsets, fireworks and the video’s dreamy pixie dust overlay) pair well with the sonically lush track, which is anchored by guest vocals from fellow Savannah native Sleepy Brown.
Big Boi’s knee injury forced him to postpone much of his midsummer Shoes For Running concert tour with Killer Mike, but he’s clearly intent on maintaining good spirits while he’s sidelined. The rapper posted some cool GIFs from “The Thickets” on his official Tumblr page — check those out here.
