Luke James, opening act to Beyonce‘s North American dates for the Mrs. Carter Show, has released a new “Summertime” remix for current single “I.O.U.” As James croons of being indebted (“I’ll owe you forever, I’ll owe you forever”), Wale darts around to illustrate how he compensates for a woman’s love, via strategic career moves that amounts to hard-earned payment (and gifts for her).

Current producer-in-crime Danja (Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Ciara) also toys with the song’s instrumentation. While the original “I.O.U.” featured a sparse beat and piano accents, the “Summertime” remix sets all vocals to fluid synths that fans of Miguel could appreciate. “I.O.U.” is the first single off James’ forthcoming debut Made to Love, due later this year. For now, check out the original and new “Summertime” remix after the jump.
