Idolator readers have delivered quite the wedding present to Canadian songbird Avril Lavigne today: her single “Here’s To Never Growing Up” was voted the winner of our 2013 Song Of The Summer poll. Astoundingly, the defiant pop jam beat out the likes of Robin Thicke‘s smash “Blurred Lines,” Daft Punk‘s “Get Lucky,” Mariah Carey and Miguel‘s “#Beautiful” and Miley Cyruscomeback single “We Can’t Stop” — oddly enough, all songs that have actually sold more and charted higher than “Here’s To Never Growing Up”on the Billboard Hot 100.

During the previous week, while voting was underway, rabid Lavigne devotees took to the poll’s comments section and spoke with deep conviction about why “Here’s To Never Growing Up” truly deserved to be crowned Song Of The Summer. Two of our favorites: “Avriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiill Lavigne” and “AVRIL LAVINGE AVRIL LAVINGE AVRIL LAVINGE AVRIL LAVINGE AVRIL LAVINGE AVRIL LAVINGE AVRIL LAVINGE AVRIL LAVINGE…”

And so, once again, the people have chosen. And Summer, you now have a new Song Of The. Head below to see how the voting for each of the five contenders panned out.

How readers voted in Idolator’s Song Of The Summer poll:

33%: Avril Lavigne, “Here’s To Never Growing Up”
32%: Mariah Carey & Miguel, “#Beautiful”
14%: Miley Cyrus, “We Can’t Stop”
10%: Daft Punk, “Get Lucky”
