Jay-Z’s ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’: Hear Justin Timberlake Collaboration “Holy Grail”

The pain of a one-sided love runs through the lyrics of the latest Jay-Z/Justin Timberlake collaboration, “Holy Grail,” off Jay’s just-released (to Samsung users) album Magna Carta Holy Grail. “It’s amazing I’m in this maze with you, I just can’t crack ya code,” JT croons in fine form during the intro, atop dramatic piano chords. Later Hov raps over a mid-tempo beat, “Fool me twice, that’s my bad / I can’t even blame her for that.” And, oh, yeah — this is also the song where Jay makes reference to Kurt Cobain and the pair interpolate Nirvana‘s classic “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”

“Holy Grail” is just one of Magna Carta‘s 15 songs. Timberlake also appears alongside Beyonce and Nas on the cut “BBC.” Still, in 2013, we can’t seem to get enough of JT, and given the obvious hit potential here, don’t be surprised to see “Holy Grail” get an official single release at some point.

Covet the song in all its shining glory below.
