Cher isn’t the only sexagenarian heating up nightclubs at the moment. Joining her in the shimmering light of the dancefloor is 63-year-old Agnetha Faltskog, who continues her impressive comeback with an uplifting new single called “Dance Your Pain Away”. Written and produced by Jorgen Elofsson, the catchy club-banger finds ABBA’s former leading lady in a bit of a predicament. Namely, she just found her man “in the restroom with another one”. Don’t you hate it when that happens?
Instead of crumbling and running home to play “The Winner Takes It All” on repeat, Agnetha decides to “create an illusion, cause some confusion” and indulge in some old-fashioned dance therapy. The track is utterly adorable and will serve as the lead single from A — the Swedish legend’s mega-selling comeback album — in the US. Think of it as “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” for real-life Golden Girls and boys. Listen to the iconic diva’s new club-banger after the jump.
“Dance Your Pain Away” has been remixed for clubs and Cahill did a particularly good job of modernizing the original. Check it out below and let us know how you feel about Agnetha’s comeback in the comments.
