Things are going well for Finn, who sees the face of Jesus in a grilled cheese sandwich and believes that subsequent divine intervention is helping him score both on the field and with girlfriend Rachel Berry. Guilt comes into play when Finn is reinstated as quarterback after new character Sam Evans (Chord Overstreet) is injured. When William McKinley’s resident guidance counselor Emma Pillsbury indicates that religion probably didn’t have much to do with these events, Finn begins to question his faith — and he chooses R.E.M.‘s 1991 alt-pop classic “Losing My Religion” to channel his emotions.
