Cory Monteith, 31-year-old beloved star of Glee, was found dead this weekend while staying at a hotel in Vancouver. It’s impossible to imagine what the award-winning Fox series would have been like without Monteith in the role of Finn Hudson, and it’s equally hard to ponder how Glee will carry on without the Canadian actor.

Here, we’ve gathered five of Monteith’s most memorable music moments on the show — yes, as a way of mourning him, but, more importantly, to demonstrate the fact that he may be gone, but his legacy on Glee will live on through song.

Revisit some of Cory’s most unforgettable Glee performances below.

1. “Don’t Stop Believin” from “Pilot” (2009). Against all odds, fledgling glee club New Directions comes together by the end of the series’ pilot episode on a lonely stage at Lima, Ohio’s William McKinley High School. The final piece of the puzzle: one football jock named Finn Hudson.

Journey‘s pop-rock classic gave Glee its first awe-inspiring moment right off the bat, and it still stands as arguably the best two minutes the Fox show has offered up, to-date.
