Jessie J’s “Hero”: Preview The ‘Kick-Ass 2’ Soundtrack Song
Jessie J is at her best when she’s fierce and triumphant (as she is on her latest single “Wild,” that abysmal Big Sean rap verse notwithstanding), and so it’s a pleasure to hear her rally up and get aggressive in the snippet for her new song “Hero,” taken from the Kick-Ass 2 soundtrack. It’s more in the vein of “Do It Like A Dude” than the relaxed vibe of “Price Tag” or inspirational bent of “Who You Are,” pounding instrumentation and a big chorus melody.
It’s not clear when this track was recorded — whether it was part of the sessions for Jessie’s upcoming sophomore LP or something altogether separate — but it’s a promising taste of what’s to come. Listen below.
