As August 19 approaches — a date that will bring the first single release from Lady Gaga in nearly two years, don’t you know — Mother Monster seems to be having a hard time letting go of her new music and setting it free in the big old world. The 27-year-old pop minx posted the above photo this morning on LittleMonsters.com, and lamented the fact that it was indeed time to turn her new single over to her record label so that the masses can be free to consume it next month.
Gaga wrote the following on her fan-populated social networking site:
“ARTPOP as they pry the single from my bleeding fingers. its a scary thing to revisit those things underneath, the pain in your past. but all I found was raw passion. I thought I was destroyed inside. im just ready to fight. start the music.”
Oh, girl, just get on with it already!
The image above, which features The Lady in a plain white shirt, sans makeup, stands in stark contrast to the completely nude, glammed-up image shot by Inez & Vinoodh for V Magazine that surfaced over the weekend. In that one, Gaga is fully done up, with her dirty blonde wig blown out like a lion’s mane.
A short video clip also popped up online this past weekend, featuring Gaga as a brunette, licking a set of monstrous green fingers.
Whatever the theme of the singer’s ARTPOP era is, it’s sure to be a blend of sexy and disturbing — in other words, business as usual for Lady Gaga.
