Kelly Rowland’s “Dirty Laundry” Video: Watch The Shadowy Clip

Kelly Rowland‘s controversial single “Dirty Laundry” — where she explores themes of domestic violence and her rivalry with former Destiny’s Child cohort Beyonce — has (at last!) received the video treatment, and it’s a fittingly eerie clip, even if it’s mostly comprised of glamour shots of K-Row looking gorgeous.

There she is floating in the fetal position in a pool of water, positively embryonic; and there she is at a lovely lunch with a guy who looks a little, well, sinister. To say the least.

In fairness, it would have been hard to take the literal approach with this video — short of hiring a Beyonce stand-in or shooting thoroughly trigger-inducing scenes of simulated partner abuse — so all the water imagery works as nicely as could be in terms of evoking a mood, even if it doesn’t completely deliver on how wrenching the song is as a confessional.

Watch up top.
