Lissie Is A Hometown Girl In Her “Further Away (Romance Police)” Video: Watch

Lissie scored an international hit with catchy pop/rock jam “When I’m Alone” back in 2010 and won a lot of fans with her debut album Catching A Tiger. She’s been a little quiet for the past couple of years but is back with an ’80s rock-flavored single called “Further Away (Romance Police)”. It finds the singer-songwriter in a distinctly depressed mood — questioning the point of love and relationships. She even goes as far as calling the romance police, which sounds like a truly terrifying organization.

The video was filmed in Lissie’s hometown of Rock Island, Illinois. It finds the blond guitar-strummer in a contemplative state, looking suitably glum as she hangs out in parks and walks along railway lines. There’s a do-it-yourself quality to the clip, which actually adds to its lo-fi appeal. I particularly like her cool Jane’s Addiction t-shirt. Watch above.
