Given that the knob-twiddler is famous for slick R&B productions, I was interested to know if he was adapting his signature sound to embrace Kylie’s dance-pop leanings — or if she was getting her Hard Candy on and going urban. It turns out they’re meeting in the middle — with Britney Spears mentioned as a reference point. “You know I worked with Britney before and Britney helped me prepare for people like Kylie,” he said.
“So working on Kylie I’m just making sure that the music represents her,” Jerkins continued. “I have some of the dance feeling [on the recording] but the rhythms will be fresh and new, something that she hasn’t done, coming from me. I think it’s just the perfect world, something that she hasn’t done and something that I haven’t done and putting those two together.” So a bass-heavy club anthem? Sounds pretty good to me.
Are you excited to hear what the unlikely duo cook up in the studio? Let me know in the comments.
