Haim Stick To Their Winning Summery Pop Formula On New Single “The Wire”: Listen

Haim continue to stake their claim as the next big thing by releasing yet another criminally catchy, sun-drenched guitar-pop single. “The Wire” finds the sisters in a slightly more relaxed mood than the urgent “Don’t Save Me” and brooding “Falling” but it slots nicely into their self-created California-pop genre. The summery tune is propelled along by a thumping drum beat before finding familiar ground with a typically punchy, sing-a-long chorus.

“It felt good, it felt right but I fumbled it when it came down to the wire,” sing the ladies remorsefully on the ’70s-flavored tale of love lost. It takes a couple of listens but eventually gets stuck in your head and refuses to leave. With a hat trick of exceptional singles in the bag, the expectations for Haim’s eagerly-awaited debut album continue to grow. Make sure to listen to their latest gem after the jump.
