Cory Monteith will be honored at the 2013 Emmy Awards with a special tribute. The show’s executive producer Ken Ehlrich told Deadline to expect “something that reflects an homage” in the September 22 ceremony couldn’t specify how extensive it will be. Given that the Glee actor passed away so recently, there isn’t a lot of time for them to prepare.
“If Cory had passed away in March, we’d have had four months to look at this with a little more perspective,” Ehlrich explained. “The reason we’re getting all of this discussion now is because he passed away two weeks ago.” On the bright side, the producer could confirm that Monteith’s tribute will be separate from the all-inclusive In Memoriam round-up. Which will come as a relief to mourning fans.
Do you think this is an adequate response or should the Emmys set aside more time for Cory?
