Kanye West and his DONDA creative shop have “remixed” the trailer for the Lindsay Lohan-starring, Bret Easton Ellis-penned film The Canyons. According to Pitchfork, West re-edited the trailer with Nate Brown and composed its music with frequent collaborator Noah Goldstein. The color palette is similar to Kanye’s “Runaway” film, and the music certainly has that baroque doom feel of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, although it’s so blown out you can barely make out the dialogue by the end (guess that would be the Yeezus reference point).

The Kanye West-Bret Easton Ellis relationship has been a fruitful one so far: they also collaborated on an American Psycho-inspired Yeezus promo clip, and Ellis said the two are spitballing ideas for a script for an undisclosed project.

Check out Kanye’s version up top, and compare it to the original trailer below.

The film opens in theaters today (August 2) and is also available to stream.
