Emeli Sande Talks New EP Featuring Wyclef Jean

Emeli Sande has teamed with Wyclef Jean for a new EP, as the chanteuse spilled to Fuse — it’s part of an attempt to work with “producers who inspired me when I was younger.” Sande’s new music will also feature producer Naughty Boy, as heard in 2012 debut Our Version Of Events, and London warehouse outfit Rudimental, who opened for her on tour.

“A dream. A real dream come true,” the Popping Up alum said of working with Jean shortly after her Lollapalooza set. As evidenced by his game of Pop Associated, the producer-rapper thrives when he collaborates with other artists, ranging from Lil Wayne (“He’s my Aerosmith. He’s my Led Zeppelin. He is my Metallica“) to Shakira (“Hips don’t lie”). But as recent releases have shown, Sande has evolved to quite the collaborator herself.

After she wrote for Alicia KeysGirl on Fire and released Our Version of Events last year, Sande went on to cover Beyonce‘s “Crazy in Love” for The Great Gatsby OST and team with Kendrick Lamar for “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe.” Perhaps the most stunning example, though, may be her most recent — that is, her cameo in Labrinth‘s tender ballad “Beneath Your Beautiful.”
