Goldfrapp Announce Lone American ‘Tales Of Us’ Live Date (So Far), At New York’s Beacon Theatre

Goldfrapp have more than a handful of European dates lined up this fall for the duo’s upcoming Tales Of Us Live tour — including Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Zurich and London — and now America has been added to the list. So far, there’s only one stop they’ll be making here, and it’s September 10 (the day the elegant Tales Of Us is released in the States, actually!), at New York’s Beacon Theatre.

Alison Goldfrapp is set to be accompanied on stage by New York City’s Wordless Music Orchestra, who, according to their official site, are “devoted to the idea that the sound worlds of classical and contemporary instrumental music – in genres such as indie rock and electronic music – share more in common than conventional thinking might suggest.”

This marriage of these two musical forces sounds perfect, especially if you’ve heard the gorgeous “Drew” off Tales Of Us. Dramatic strings abound in the song, and it’s really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the lush arrangements found on the moody, cinematic album.

General tickets for Goldfrapp’s New York gig go on sale on August 9, with a pre-sale happening the day before.
