Kitten Announce ‘Like A Stranger’ EP: Hear The Title Track

Electro-rock act Kitten have announced the details for their upcoming third EP titled Like A Stranger. The six-song set is the band’s first release since last year’s great Cut It Out EP. The Los Angeles band has had quite the year since — playing SXSW, landing an opening spot for Paramore last spring, and serving as a special guest on Charli XCX‘s upcoming tour. The Like A Stranger EP will preface the band’s upcoming full-length debut, out in 2014.

Additionally, the band premiered the title track — a shimmering gem of a song that evokes feelings of nostalgia often present in the band’s music. Eighteen-year-old front woman Chloe Chaidez delivers the track’s vocals with such conviction as she croons “love me like a stranger” before breaking into a spoken-word bridge a la Madonna‘s “Vogue.” As with most Kitten material, it’s hard categorize the track — the heavy synths make it a dance-floor anthem, but the band’s rock edge is still equally present.

The Like A Stranger EP drops August 27. Hear the title song and check out the tracklist below.
