Usher Retains Primary Custody Of His Sons After Pool Incident

Usher will continue to hold primary custody of his two sons, after ex-wife Tameka Foster Raymond called for a hearing to revisit custody rulings. Raymond requested temporary custody after the couple’s older son Usher V (“Cinco”) got caught in a pool drain at Usher’s Atlanta home.

A judge in Atlanta dismissed the request by Usher’s ex on August 9, saying he wasn’t certain whether the accident could have been prevented by anyone. Statements from Raymond’s request also conflicted with an official police report; while Raymond claimed that “Cinco” suffered a “near-death incident” while left unsupervised, Usher’s aunt Rena Oden was around while Usher himself was at a music studio one highway exit away from home.

In addition to her request, Raymond complained that Usher never confers with her of their children’s whereabouts and caregivers. In response, the judge advised the “Climax” singer to keep his ex posted going forward.
