Katy Perry‘s iTunes-conquering smash “Roar” makes an auspicious debut on the Hot 100 this week. The infectious self-help book set to music storms onto the Billboard chart at number 85 — based on four days of airplay alone. When you factor in the diva’s bumper digital sales and exploding radio airplay, the first taste of Prism is a good bet to knock Robin Thicke off the top spot. It’s ok, “Blurred Lines” fans. He’s already been there for 10 weeks!

“Roar” also made a giant splash on the Radio Songs chart, coming in at number 29 with 40 million impressions. That’s Katy’s highest debut on the tally, besting “California Gurls”, which first landed at number 31 in 2010. As for Lady Gaga’s “Applause”? It missed the Hot 100, which was pretty much expected given that it’s only been on radio for two days. Don’t be sad, Little Monsters. The track did appear on one chart, debuting at number 16 on Dance/Electronic Songs.

There’s no doubt that both tracks will made a huge splash next week. Who will come out on top? The odds are currently in Katy’s favor but as Ellie Goulding once sang — anything could happen! Join the conversation by voting in our latest Ibrawlator.
