Disses: Ex-boyfriend

Adele made quiet waves with her 2008 debut 19, but it was her follow-up album 21 that catapulted her to international stardom, thanks to her brilliant diss record “Rolling In The Deep.” The inspiration behind the song was musician Slinky Sunbeam, one of the singer’s ex-boyfriends. In the song, she taunts “Go ‘head and sell me out and I’ll lay your shit bare / see how I leave with every piece of you / don’t underestimate the things that I will do.”

Thanks to the hit song and album, Adele went on to top every music chart imaginable for weeks on end. In the meantime, her ex-boyfriend was most likely crying in a corner wishing he could have her back. Now that’s the ultimate revenge!
