Danity Kane Reunites, Teases Big News At VMAs

Danity Kane has confirmed what the paparazzi and photos have hinted since May — an official reunion is in store. Now a quartet, the group debuted a new website and promo shots for what may be its first new music in five years.

Once signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy Records, the Making the Band quintet (also including D. Woods) released its debut single, “Show Stopper,” a savvy pop adaptation of Atlanta snap music. With 2008’s Welcome to the Dollhouse (and lead single “Damaged”), Danity Kane became the first female group to debut its first two albums at No. 1. The following year however, Danity Kane split. This year, Dawn Richard released the ambitious Goldenheart amid the fervor surrounding alt-R&B, while Aubrey O’Day released the polished Between Two Evils EP.

In the meantime, as if the sight of its four members — Richard, O’Day, Aundrea Fimbres and Shannon Bex — sitting together wasn’t enough, Danity Kane also promises to make an announcement during the MTV Video Music Awards pre-show, tonight at 8:15 p.m. EST. For hints of what may be in store, revisit “Show Stopper” and “Damaged” after the jump.
