VH1’s Second ‘CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story’ Trailer Gets Real: Watch
Uglier details emerge a new trailer for VH1’s CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story. Quick cuts reveal scenes revolving around TLC rapper Left Eye (played by Drew Sidora) and her relationship with then-Atlanta Falcon Andre Rison, including when Left Eye famously lit Rison’s mansion on fire. At the time, this 1994 incident that nearly eclipsed all anticipation surrounding TLC’s follow-up to its debut, Ooooooohhh… On the TLC Tip.
Such violent scenes flash in between depictions of rising fame — awards, attention — to help show the tumultuous transition that TLC made from its girly, hip-hop beginnings to sleek, R&B-informed heights with second album CrazySexyCool. Compared to VH1’s first trailer, with its hard looks at the cast (also featuring Lil Mama and Keke Palmer), this one feels dizzying, much like TLC’s then-reality.
CrazySexyCool airs October 21 on VH1, so less than a week after TLC’s greatest-hits album drops. Watch the new trailer up top.
