Did You Hear?

:: After her wild and shocking performance at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards, Miley Cyrus is now catching heat by the U.S. Parents Television Council. In a press statement, the PTC stated: “MTV continues to sexually exploit young women by promoting acts that incorporate ‘twerking’ in a nude-colored bikini. How is this image of former child star Miley Cyrus appropriate for 14-year-olds?” [NME]

:: Here’s someone who didn’t have an issue with Miley’s performance. Robin Thicke‘s very open wife Paula Patton said she knew what to expect since there were a lot of rehearsals. Patton also didn’t have a problem with Thicke’s sexual “Blurred Lines” video, so there’s really no surprise here. [TMZ]

:: Barack Obama has a great handle on social media, and the president issued out a tweet to Katy Perry in support of healthcare. The tweet even included the ever-appropriate hashtag – #ROAR. How awesome is that? [Crushable]

:: While everyone was recovering from the MTV VMAs madness, Prince decided to host a surprise concert in NYC at – get this – 3 o’clock in the morning! The show didn’t end until 6 a.m., with the singer performing a 32-song set. [Consequence of Sound]
