Justin Bieber & Miley Cyrus’ “Twerk”: When Twerking Hit Its Peak And Nadir At The Same Time

Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus have teamed up for “Twerk,” and it is pretty much exactly what you’d expect a Bieber-Cyrus club anthem named “Twerk” in the post-“We Can’t Stop,” post-Bieber rapping to Migos landscape we leave in to sound like. The track was produced by Maejor Ali, and originally was supposed to be a Lil Twist track featuring the other two stars. But the rapper doesn’t appear on the version that hit the Web today — who knows if it’s the final version.

The song features Miley essentially doing a Kreayshawn impression, as she says in a high-pitched chant, “I came up in this party and I’m turnt / I came up in this party, time to twerk.” Turnt, twerk…if only she had mentioned molly and Scarface, and they’d have the corny hip-hop trope grand slam!

Head below to hear what we can only hope is the death knell of this twerk fad.

Who can we blame this on? Diplo? Jay Z
