America’s favorite court-ordered community service worker Chris Brown stopped by TODAY this morning (August 30) to perform “Fine China” and “Love More,” two songs from his forthcoming album X. And while the performance was competent, and the music relatively banging, I think we can all agree 8:43 AM EST is a little too early for a preening Breezy to strut around our living rooms. But here we are.
Also, it’s crazy to think the TODAY show remains an essential stop for any established, or aspiring Hot 100 hitmaker considering the performances always seem weirdly stilted — only a few steps away from recreating Tiffany‘s mall concert in her “I Think We’re Alone Now” video — and barely anybody watches the damn thing these days. Regardless, the show goes on next week with Nelly and Florida Georgia Line stopping by for an early Labor Day performance.
