Rappers have been so prolific as of late — releasing albums (if not mixtapes) like they’re Rihanna that they feel obligated to remind listeners of why they should care about even more new music. Every individual release is An Event. Maejor Ali drops his “Lolly” video on September 17, and a preview takes this concept to new heights.

Compared to previous evidence, Ali’s video doesn’t reveal much else. The perpetually Trippy Juicy J wearing a Cuban link chain? Check. Justin Bieber in a jacket decorated with candy dots? Check. Dancing under cyan, magenta and yellow lights? Yup. However, thanks to its “The Following Preview” introduction and its operatic background music, the sort often reserved for action thrillers, Ali’s “Lolly” preview takes a comically dramatic turn. (Hey, at least it’s longer than most pop video previews.)

Check out Maejor Ali’s “Lolly” video preview up top. Oh, and if you haven’t heard the song yet, check that out after the jump Bieber raps through rhymes to Pellegrino, and he’s actually pretty good.
