BBC Radio 1′s Live Lounge is on one hell of a roll. Yesterday, Bastille dropped by the studio to lift Miley Cyrus‘ “We Can’t Stop” to previously unimagined heights. Today, we’re treated to Kings Of Leon stripping Robyn‘s sublime “Dancing On My Own” of its icy synths.
The result is the kind of sorrowful blues-tinged track the southern rockers are famous for. It works perfectly because the original material was already seething with hurt and anger. Sweden’s greatest export just kept those emotions (somewhat) contained behind furious beats. Kings Of Leon, on the other hand, let them run free. Watch their superb cover up top.
