You might not recognize the name Matthew Koma (yet) but chances are, you’ve heard one of his club-conquering dance anthems on the radio or stumbled across a track he has written for another artist. Like Zedd‘s double platinum top 10 hit “Clarity” or the vast majority of Carly Rae Jepsen‘s excellent Kiss album.

The 26-year-old is now focussing on his own music by releasing an EP comprised of acoustic covers of his club hits (“Spectrum”), most successful songwriting credits (“Clarity”) and new material. It’s a stepping stone to Matthew’s debut LP, which will take him further in an EDM direction. He kindly dropped by the Idolator studio to chat about his writing success and future plans. Watch up top.

Are you excited to hear Matthew’s new material? Let us know in the comments below. You can download his acoustic EP here.
