Daft Punk have finally released a music video for a Random Access Memories track! The French Robots came out of hiding with Pharrell and Nile Rodgers for the “Lose Yourself To Dance” clip, the second single from RAM. If you saw the teaser for the video during the 2013 MTV VMAs, then you pretty much know what you’re in for here: the foursome gently rocking out in some sort of future disco thunderdome while wearing impossibly sparkly silver blazers.

Yep, that about sums it up! Compared to the duo’s earlier, iconic videos, this is pretty blah, but in a weirdly appealing way. And the trope-y performance music video concept completely evokes the cheesy/earnest music eras they channeled on the album. Plus, none of this matters because the song’s groove simply cannot be denied.

That said, if you’re looking for a way to amp up the video’s excitement, we’ve gotten endless mileage out of it by singing the chorus but replacing the word “dance” with whatever other activity you enjoy: for example, “lose yourself to Dexter,” “lose yourself to guac,” “lose yourself to Candy Crush,” etc. Very entertaining.
