Jessie J And Brandy Team Up For “Conquer The World”: Listen To The ‘Alive’ Highlight
Jessie J‘s much-anticipated sophomore set Alive hits stores next week (in every country except America) but, as is often the case, the album has surfaced online a little early. While much of the LP is devoted to feisty empowerment anthems and sassy kiss-offs, the highlight is a simple ode to friendship. The feisty Brit teams up with R&B goddess Brandy for “Conquer The World” and, somewhat surprisingly, they turn out to be a match made in pop heaven.
The big-lunged ladies trade verses over an acoustic guitar and slick urban beats on the emotional Claude Kelly-produced ballad. They basically encourage each to keep reaching higher. “I’m gonna be strong for you when the days get rough,” Jessie sings. (A reference to Brandy’s South African misadventure?) While Ms. Norwood returns the favor, belting out: “I don’t ever wanna see you givin’ up ’cause you got me!” Get inspired after the jump.
